Sunday Morning. For me a little different because for the first time this year I am going to Lead Worship! Lent began Wednesday! When I watch TV there seem to be a lot of shows and people talking about being prepared. Not necessarily doomsday, but like many people faced this week with Snow and Ice. I've had preparedness on my mind and especially since my illness. Our series for Lent is "PREPARE FOR..." So as we travel with Jesus to Calvary there are things we need ...to Prepare For. This week, TEMPTATION from Mark 1:9-13. For most of us in this day Temptation looks like, eating something unhealthy or buying something like that pair of shoes. I believe that we can learn from scripture how to Prepare For Temptation. It's the Sunday after Christmas! Cookie crumbs everywhere, gifts unwrapped and dare I say the big "letdown!" We hurried and the hype now over, yet it seems like we missed out. I think the truth is we get caught up in the Worldview of Christmas, everyone falls in love, gets everything they want and if that didn't happen we did something wrong! In this year of pandemic, politics and problems I think many people are asking the question "NOW WHAT?!?!?" So today we will tackle that question as we worship. Sunday Morning and the 4th Sunday of Advent! Have you ever considered that since creation God's plan was to send his Son to reconcile us? In this season of Wait and See, Jesus is coming. The question becomes who is Jesus to you? As we prepare for his birth on this Sunday of Joy we're going to think about the words of the prophet Isaiah with the message "He is Here!"
