June is Post Traumatic Stress Disorder Awareness Month. PTSD is a disorder that can occur in people who have experienced or witnessed a traumatic event such as a natural disaster, a serious accident, a terrorist act, war/combat, rape or other violent personal assault. Spotlight on our Social Worker, Tricia Passuth... Tricia is the Director of Community Ministries at First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta. She received her Bachelor of Social Work degree from Georgian Court University. Upon graduation, she attended Fordham University receiving a Master’s in Social Work and graduating Summa Cum Laude in 2010. Tricia has experience in therapeutic setting providing counseling to adolescents and adults. She has a wealth of experience advocating fo...r vulnerable people, from children in foster care, to homeless and at-risk teens. In her spare time, she has volunteered as an advocate for homeless individuals in a Tent City, has provided group therapy with incarcerated individuals through Canine Cellmates, and has taken in and cared for abandoned animals as a foster parent. Monday Spotlight On Mitch Mundy NCC, MS Mitchell Mundy joined Samaritan in May of 2018 after graduating from Georgia State’s Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling program. Mitchell approaches therapy with the goal to enhance all dimensions of wellness, while helping clients address specific needs to enhance growth. Mitchell works with adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship issues, and substance abuse. His wellness approach is rooted in co...gnitive behavioral theory and he utilizes a wide range of therapeutic techniques to meet all clients’ unique needs.
