An easy way to remember the new requirements for outdoor burning in Georgia is to Take 5: S Space 25+ feet between fire and woodlands S Space 50+ feet ...between fire and structures T Time sunrise to sunset A Attendance Person responsible on-site until the fire is completely extinguished R Reasonable precautions Tools/measures in place to prevent escaped fire. If we all do our part, we can reduce the number of #wildfires in Georgia!

Sandersville Truck Route Traffic Pattern Impacts Begin Tuesday, June 1. Ongoing Phase 1 State Route (SR) 15 Truck Route progress will affect Mayview Road and Fa...ll Line Freeway travel next this week. Weather permitting, road construction will detour traffic using a newly built Truck Route section from Mayview Road to State Route 15 from Tuesday, June 1 through Saturday, June 5. This will affect roughly 12 homes in the area. Additionally, drivers will notice a traffic shift when approaching Ridge Road from the Fall Line Freeway on Thursday, June 3. Eastbound traffic will move to the westbound side to create temporary two-way traffic in the work zone. Once outside of the work area to the east or the west, vehicles will move back to normal travel lanes. G.P.’s Enterprises is the primary contractor for the $24.1 million Sandersville Truck Route, one of the major regional Transportation Investment Act (TIA) projects that was passed by Central Savannah River Area (CSRA) voters in 2012. The project is fully funded by TIA proceeds. The project includes 4.585 miles of lane widening and reconstruction beginning a new location of SR 15 just east of Ridge Road on SR 242, and extending generally along Ridge Road to SR 15 north of Sandersville. The typical section will consist of four lanes with a raised median from SR 242 to Sisters Church Creek, and four lanes with a flush median from that point to the north end. In addition to the roadway improvements, work features a new bridge and approaches over the Sandersville Railroad and a multi-lane roundabout at the intersection of the Fall Line Freeway.

A #COVID19 message to our local faith leaders: we are encouraging all faith groups to adhere to national and state social distancing guidelines when conducting services to help fight the spread of COVID-19 in our communities. http://ow.ly/hEhQ30qwBiL
Slowing the spread of #COVID19 means practicing social distancing. It's important to take this measure seriously. Social distancing means limiting close contact with others as much as possible by staying 6 feet from other people. https://bit.ly/33EL3df
