Ok as everybody should know. Lockridge Cove Farms is in the running for a small business grant. However, we need at least 250 votes from the local community. Hey Everybody, hope all is well. We have been hard at it lately here on the farm. Planting time is upon us once again!! We have already got the potatoes, cabbage, onions, turnips, radishes, and lettuce planted and its doing really well. The hogs are doing great! We have been having difficulties in the chicken coop. This morning I was feeding the chickens and I felt something move across the toe of my boot. I knew it wasn't a chicken. I said a little prayer and prayed that if ...it was gonna be a snake at least let it be a black snake or ground snake. Welp I looked down and the "King Daddy" of all black snakes was proceeding to make his way across my boot into the chicken house. I stood still and waited, figured if I let him do his thing then that would let me get to the truck and get the gun. I dont like to kill much, but if something is taking something away from my livelihood, then the problem must be dispatched. Plus a snake is a snake and there are way to many kids around. To make a long story short I didnt get to the truck quick enough. The bugger does have a .410 shell with his name on it. Anyway, back to farming. Just to let everybody know. If you plant by the signs, this monday the 20th and tuesday the 21st are when the signs are right for corn and beans. Oh and by the way, hope everybody likes tomatoes and peppers. Last week we planted 547 tomatoes, and 468 pepper plants. Also we've got the okra, squash, cucumbers, and zuchini in. All we like is the sweet corn, beans, and field corn. Hey Guys, Christmas is well on the way!! Hope all is well with everybody. I think we should take this time to reflect and realize exactly how blessed we are. We live in one of the most beautiful places on the face of the earth. We get to have good clean air. With all of these horrible doings going on all across this country, we must realize that with out God we are nothing. This country has lost all respect for who God is, and what he can and will do. God is a jealous God. So... many people are in shock and wonder over the tragedy in Connecticut, and I mourn for those families as well. Its at these times that Christians need to hold steadfast to their faith. Its with that I firmly ask everybody in sight of these words to please PRAY for our NATION, our LEADERS, and be THANKFUL for all the blessings the Lord has given. On the farm all is well, the hogs are growing faster than I expected. We are preparing to start fencing back on Cynth Creek pretty soon!! Hey Guy's, Sorry we aint been on here lately. The rumbles of change are being heard all across the bottoms and hollers of Lockridge Cove Farms. Big Plans are being made for next years season. We are planning on Tomatoes and Sweet Corn for sure. I am planning on quite a bit of field corn. Possibly a corn maze. Meanwhile back in the barn yard. We've got some new chickens pecking around and a couple of hogs in the pen. We were at Dr. Scott Hancock's place over in Sautee this past weekend. Plowed quite a bit with the horses. Gonna try to get all the new ground for next year turned over this weekend.

Hey Farm Crew!! Sorry its been so long on a update. It wont be long till I start pickin field corn. We are still working on fences, and hopefully we will be in the chicken business before long!!
