My Thought For Today - In school children have often been asked, "Who is your hero?" or, "What do you want to be when you grow up?" Thinking about this made me remember the number of wonderful people I have met in my life. Not to be "Overly Spiritual" but, the Man Christ Jesus stands head and shoulders above all. The more I learn of Him, the more I want to follow Him. Is it okay for me to think and say this?

My Thought For Today - I went into a store yesterday and noticed they already had many Christmas items on the shelves. My first reaction was, "It is not even Halloween, let alone Thanksgiving." After thinking about all the efforts which go along with Christmas it brought me to the conclusion - "We, the Church, have many reasons to celebrate the birth of our Lord; if they want to start early, okay, let's get started."

My Thought For Today - After one is born of the Holy Spirit is that it? What I mean is, is there nothing for the "New-born Child of God" to do? I think we can all see this is just the beginning. When one has been given eyes to see, ears to hear, and a heart to understand - Now is the time to begin that walk of faith. Taking up one's cross and following after the Lord is a lifetime adventure, it is not a one time experience.

My Thought For Today - I was reading about how Jesus was so approachable. I believe He was this way because He knew Who He was and what He was about. I also believe fear and doubt are big contributors to people being unapproachable. Some seem to get very defensive when asked simple questions about their Christian beliefs. The Scripture tells us to "be ready always" in giving an answer to those who ask.

My Thought For Today - If someone is in the military is it okay to say, "I don't think so" when an officer commands them to march? If someone is employed at a zoo is it okay to say, "I don't like animals" when they are told to feed them? If someone is a life guard is it okay to say, "I'm afraid of the water" when another is drowning? If someone professes to be a Christian is okay to say, "I'll think about it" when Jesus said to be baptized?

My Thought For Today - I think prayer is more than just "talking" to God. I believe if we are just "talking" we are not really praying. I can talk to a lot of people, about a lot of different things, and do it on a regular basis; this does not mean I am praying. When we pray there is a need for reverence (for the Father), intercession (by the Son), and interpretation (by the Holy Spirit). Prayer is to be an act of worship.

Too Angry To See

Savannah Primitive Baptist Church 08.08.2020

My Thought For Today - I have heard people say, "I will rest when I am dead". The fact is, I need rest every week. Rest from the trials, temptations, and conflicts which I run into. Rest from the general efforts of trying to be a Christian in a world which fights against Christ. Rest from the hatred and anger I see displayed every day in media. I am so thankful that the Lord has provided a place where I can find rest in Him.

My Thought For Today - I have just gotten back from the church. I noticed worn impressions in the grass from a golf cart. The tracks ran beside two power outlets on both sides of the church building. One of the outlets was left flipped open. I turned the power off; but, someone has been stealing the church's electricity! I wanted to leave a note saying, "God saw you"; but, when I called JoAnne she would not let me.

My Thought For Today - I was thinking about how the Bible exhorts us to have faith in God. I believe that in the beginning of our walk of faith the Lord gives each one of us a measure of faith. Along our walk we witness many deliverances by the grace of God and each of these occasions strengthens our faith. Faith, Trust, Confidence in God comes each time we hear the preaching of the Gospel. So..., go to church.

My Thought For Today - I was thinking about angels this morning and wanted to share some questions. Did you know angels were created before mankind? Did you know (like Adam) angels were given the ability to obey or rebel against God? Did you know angels exist in the realm of God's creation today? Did you know Jesus did not redeem fallen angels? Angels are created beings never to be worshipped.
