So I had to wait a bit for this announcement, but Briegton has moved on in his career from Savannah Bend Marina to Baskin Robbins Fire Department. Briegton came to us a college kid at Armstrong, and ended up being a great forklift driver. He was always around. It was like he lived at the marina or something. Good luck in the future buddy, and stop by and see us from time to time!

Pretty high tide this morning. Almost didn't need the forklift to get them in.

Everyone knows I went to Ohio University, but I swear I didn't go up to Athens and steal Rufus, the mascot, and set him free on our docks today. Thanks to the Martins, whose boat it was on for taking the video. Go Bobcats!

All storm prep is complete. We will be open tomorrow unless the weather gets crazy. Good work from the crew preparing the marina.

We are monitoring the situation, and will be securing the facility tomorrow on Sunday afternoon. As of now we will be open for business Sunday. Will post updates as we see them.

We are watching the Bahamas. Looks like it going to go more east as the day goes on, but we are already making moves to secure marina. There is a full moon Monday so we will have a higher than normal tide. This could cause some flooding along the Wilmington River.

We are going to be open this weekend also. We are still at a limited operation and are still scheduling launches. Will be launching boats from 9-2 Friday Saturday and Sunday. What a day! We got everything ready for the shelter in place. We will reopen April 9th at 8 AM. This is the the first time shutting down (even though it was usually Hurricane prep) without these guys. This was from Matthew. Briegton, Mary and I did a fine job securing the facility. In all of today's confusion, I didn't post about Matt Reagins last day. Matt has been at Savannah Bend Marina for seven years as a senior forklift driver. He is going to be a Big Rig driver so hopefully he will be delivering brand new boats to the dealership. I picked this picture because he reminded me of the Brawny Paper Towel Man and it always makes me laugh. Thanks for all the hard work over the years and good luck in the future!

March 26, 2020 Good Afternoon our Valued Customers, It is with a heavy heart that we have made the decision to temporarily cease activities at both of our Savannah facilities in order to safely secure our employees during the Shelter In Place Declaration associated with the current COVID-19 pandemic . To that end, we will be open tomorrow, March 27th, for our regular business hours, in order to take care of any last minute customer needs. We will comply with the full Shelte...r in Place Declaration issued by the Town of Thunderbolt from close of business Friday, March 27th through Wednesday, April 8th. In the event that this declaration is amended for any reason, we will notify you via email, and will comply with said amended date range. During this period, NO SERVICES will be provided at either the MarineMax Boat Dealership, or the Savannah Bend Marina. If you desire to use your boat during the shutdown, you will need to make arrangements with the Marina to have the vessel launched on Friday, March 27th by the close of business. Additionally, Savannah Bend Marina will NOT be liable for any vessels left in the water from the close of business on Friday, March 27th, extending through to our current re-open date of April 9th. Only those vessels with PAID WET SLIP STORAGE CONTRACTS should be left in the water through this period of time. It's a wrap! We are officially done with Cinco De Cuda turned out to be our best yet! We worked very hard this year and had a great outcome. We hope Oatland Isl...and Wildlife Center and Friends of Oatland Island have a great year. There is a lot of people to thank for this years tournament so here we go!
