A stroke can happen to anyone, at anytime and anywhere. About one in four people worldwide will have a stroke in his or her lifetime. World Stroke Day is observed on October 29 to call attention to the serious nature and high rates of stroke, raise awareness of the prevention and treatment of the condition, and ensure better care and support for survivors. Our Physicians strongly believe in disease prevention through patient education, lifestyle changes, and medications to lower complications from vascular disease. Spider veins, also known as telangiectasia, affect about one out of three women. These tiny (<1mm) red, blue, or purple veins lie in or immediately below the skin’s surface and are commonly found on the thighs, calves, and ankles. Spider veins are usually harmless, though they can sometimes cause aching, burning or pain, especially when you've been standing for long periods. If you have symptoms or are concerned about the appearance of spider veins, Call us today 912-352-8346 and learn more about your treatment options.

During this pandemic, Savannah Vascular Institute is helping patients safely reduce their risk of stroke by using a minimally invasive approach called TCAR (Transcarotid Artery Revascularization). TCAR is clinically proven to lower patients’ risk for stroke with faster recovery, less pain and smaller scars. You may be at risk for carotid artery disease and stroke if you have two or more of the below risk factors. To learn more about TCAR go to https://www.savannahvascular.com/tcar-procedure/

Every 40 seconds, someone in the United States has a stroke, even during a pandemic. 1/3 of strokes originate in the Carotid Arteries. Savannah Vascular offers a less-invasive procedure with a faster recovery time called #TCAR to help reduce the risk of stroke in high surgical risk patients.
