At SFMS we’re working hard to support folk music during these difficult times, but let’s face it, we’re still figuring out this streaming thing. A recent change to Facebook’s streaming policy prompted our First Friday team to seek out a more suitable platform: YouTube! Thus was born our brand new SFMS YouTube Channel. We didn’t have quite enough time to meet all the technical requirements YouTube specifies for live-streaming a performance, but never fear this Friday’s feat...ured performers, Knot Done, offered to record their show ahead of time. We’ll be uploading that video as the inaugural performance of our new SFMS YouTube channel! You’re not going to want to miss this momentous event, at our usual FFFM time slot: First Friday, 7:30p.m. Here's a teaser for their video Dan Cooper, Miguel de Jesus, Mary Jo Adams, John Powers, and Robbie Cooper = Knot Done. A finer set of musicians you will not find. See more

This posting from SFMS friend Daniel Nickel from Talent, OR. Last week Talent and Phoenix Oregon was hit hard from a raging fire that spread through our valley, burning almost everything in its path. Over one thousand people lots their homes and have been displaced. Small businesses that were already struggling through this pandemic have burned down as well as a severely damaged infrastructure to the towns. Our family was able to make it out just before the fire came through... our neighborhood and burned down houses. The heroic firefighters worked all day and night saving some homes and getting people out. The police were putting themselves at risk evacuating families as the fire was coming down the street. The sheer total loss of #talent and #Phoenix is devastating. Having said that, I would like to donate all proceeds from my recent Album Quick Fix to the city of Talent and Phoenix for their disaster relief. This album was originally intended to offer connection during this pandemic, now its purpose is to fight and build hope. I hope this music can bring some joy to some people during these difficult times and offer some relief. Please share and thank you.
