Vision To Learn has scheduled 13 dates of mobile clinic visits at Cobb County Public Libraries in late June through July. Over the past few months, Vision To Learn vans have been repurposed across the US for food distribution efforts and as break spaces for healthcare workers. With our lineup of hundreds of in-person Summer Reading events replaced with virtual programs, VTL at the libraries will be basically the only in-person events on the calendar, so far at least. Both Co...bb County and Vision To Learn will operate under health and safety protocols. Fewer VTL appointment slots are available than normal. Some have been filled out of the waiting lists for the postponed Spring Break VTL visits at Cobb libraries. We are grateful for any assistance you can provide to inform families in low-income areas of opportunities for Vision To Learn appointments for free eye exams and free eyeglasses. We will grow our promotional campaign for VTL over the next several days. The first week of VTL visits include Sibley Library on South Cobb Drive on June 29 and 30, and South Cobb Regional Library on July 1 and 2. Pre-registration forms for the four dates are attached. Visits are also scheduled for the North Cobb Regional Library and Gritters Library at Shaw Park. A national VTL official told me this partnership is under review as a national model for expanding VTL to public libraries in other regions of the country. Gwinnett County libraries will host VTL for 12 dates this summer.
