Schweiger Farms

These are what’s left of a 1/2 pickup load of collards! We gave a bunch to the sheep yesterday, when we got them. We gave a bunch more this morning to the sheep, all the bunnies got several leaves each, the geese got some too! Another day or twos worth!

Yarn received today from a SAPGAP trade. The dark pile is from Dora, the white from Yang. I had her make 2 skeins of yarn with them plyed together! I really like that effect!

This is interesting. We have lots of cactus in the pasture! I’ll have to try this next time we plant trees.

Hatching days here at the farm! Cuckoo Marans chicks and Black Roundhead chicks! Next week will be other game breeds hatching as well.

Cabbages and broccoli from the garden. I need to pick the last couple of heads. They’re splitting because of the rain and heat.

Hatching various breeds of games, Cuckoo Marans and Buff Orpingtons! I’m using old styrofoam incubators for hatchers. We got a new large water tank to use as a brooder!

Hadley was following us around as we planted and picked. He was rewarded with broccoli leaves!

Our date palm we planted today. It’s in the sheep paddock, but protected by fencing. Once grown, it will provide needed shade for the flight pens.

Chris’s broccoli and cabbages. We blanched the broccoli, and put it in the freezer. Cabbages need t get a bit bigger!
