Our very own, Mrs. Austin, is now officially a certified trainer for Reading Horizons! SCA's partnership with Reading Horizons began almost two years ago and is used to support SCA’s approach to reading instruction. We are thrilled to now have a certified Reading Horizons trainer on staff to continue to support our teachers. SCA's approach to reading instruction is aligned to the principles of reading sciencescholars at SCA are engaged in explicit and systematic phonics instruction that fits into the structured literacy framework. During the last few days of school, scholars visited and filled the SCA and United Way Little Free Pantries and delivered donations to the Children's Advocacy Center. We appreciate all our families donate throughout the year to keep our pantry full as well as others in the community! SCA's pantry is located at the corner of Toombs & Valley downtown.

We are excited to finally give our 4th grade SCA parents an opportunity to view our Peter Pan movie that was filmed Scintilla style earlier this year. We want to give a special thanks to Mandy Avera and Amanda Miller for allowing us to do so many fun projects and programs here at SCA. It was quite a feat to attempt this movie process due to the changes we had to all make this year. We are so very grateful to Blake Tucker and Chauncey Stern who put many hours into filmin...g this project. We could not have done this without their abilities and patience. We want to extend a special thanks to Chauncey Stern for many hours spent editing our final version! Our last thanks goes to the kids and their parents. This class did an amazing job!
