Meet Catie Cobb, Physical Therapist Assistant. Catie joined our team in September 2019 after finishing her education and passing her boards. She is an Alumni of Auburn University and Athens Technical College. Catie became a therapist because she wanted to help people recover from their injuries and assist with regaining their independence. When asked about her career thus far, she states she loves being a therapist because you get to witness improving a patient's quality of l...ife. She expressed, "Watching a patient achieve their goals after working so hard is truly rewarding." Her motto is, "Empathy, sympathy, and kindness go a long way, but everyone sometimes needs a push." Catie enjoys improving balance, ambulation, and strengthening of the lower extremities. Her Patient, Mr. Smith, described her therapy as thorough and inspiring, "She is conscientious of exercises that will help build endurance, and she makes you try while being encouraging." She is originally from Savannah, Georgia. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, playing with her dog, and swimming. Ms. Edwards was admitted to Signature HealthCARE of Marietta two weeks ago and is now going home. When asked how her time in rehab was, Ms. Edwards expressed, "It exceeded my expectation. Everyone was professional, courteous, and I progressed every single day. My therapist made sure I was safe, secure, and that I kept moving forward." During her short stay, she improved her balance, strength, endurance, and abilities to complete her ADL's at a more independent level without a...n assistive device. In the picture, she is working on resistance balance training with Kiona Yarbrough, COTA. "When I get home, I look forward to my independence as I gained that while I was here. I truly want to thank Sandi, Kiona, Catie, and Anisha. They were all superb!" Thank you, Ms. Edwards, for doing a SUPERB JOB yourself! We are here because of wonderful people like you! Congratulations on completing your rehabilitation.

When Mr. Garrett came to us, we were concerned as this was his third time returning within a very short time. He explained, "When I got here, I couldn't walk, move, let alone roll over." Mr. Garrett put in a lot of work and improved his muscle strength to be where he is now. "Now, I'm walking and having a good time. I feel I can take better care of myself." When talking about his therapist Amanda he stated, "I look for her every morning, and she's done D*!$ good!" When asked ...what would you tell a friend about going through the process of therapy, Mr. Garrett explained, "It's good for you, even if you're in pretty good shape, it will help you." Thank you, Mr. Garrett, for working so hard and improving your quality of life to return home with your family. We will miss you, and we wish you the best.
