Sister Louisa's Church of the Living Room and Ping Pong Emporium 27.10.2020

FOR SALE: Sister Louisa's SANCTUARY is a former Girl Scout Camp 30 min south of Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport... between McDonough & Griffin. I bought the property a few years ago as a nostalgic throwback to my childhood when I was a camper then counselor-in- training, then counselor and more... from the age of 11 years old until I was well into college. The camp was a safer place than my home life and I was very fortunate to have this as home and the people there as my chosen family. I met a lot of "my people" down at Camp Indian Springs in Crawfordville, Florida as a child in the 60's. Jackie Timmons and I are bound for life (and hilarity and ignorance) as a result of what camp gave us, what camp gave us that we could pass along to the campers. We created a safe and positive fantasy life as an unintentional flee away from the toxic confusion that was the dysfunctional state of our birth families. I am making the difficult yet conscious and timely decision to sell the 44 acre former Girl Scout Camp that was previously known as Cecil Jackson Girl Scout Camp. Looking back, I saw such potential in the camp. The buildings were deteriorating, the grounds were overrun, the outdoor pavilions and trails were screaming for someone to bring a little joy into their abandoned existence. I think I wanted to give it the love that my childhood camp had shown me. I've spent the last few years, with the help of my generous friend, Richard Garner, putting much needed love, time and money, back into the 15 structures and 44 rolling acres of magic. Here are the basics of the property: -44 acres -Rezoned to Agri/Tourism -Spalding Country, Griffin Address -15 renovated structures -6 up to date cabins -Expansive lodge with kitchen, bathrooms, and laundry room and porches. -Large pavilion for outdoor events -Smaller pavilion with kitchen/laundry. -Well house with new workings -Pole Barn for firewood/parking -Large bath house with HVAC, 4 showers, sinks, toilets. -Small more rustic bath house with 3 toilets and showers. -Marked walking trails -a small bridge -3 septic tanks -new well and water filtration system -Sellling furnished with all cabin furniture -Includes round tables and chairs in lodge -Spalding County, Griffin address -small pond with dock where the Girl Scouts used to do their swimming and Gerry Weber used for fishing. If you know of anyone interested in starting an outdoor education program be it for yoga, or an outdoor food program, or just for a clean slate to create their dreams, whether it be for outdoor events, weddings, corporate retreats, etc., please share this post. My email is [email protected] for questions regarding the property's available uses, price, and other pertinent details. Or just pm me here. Serious inquiries only. Share your dream. OPEN HOUSE SUNDAY, October 18th, 2020 at Sanctuary: 240 Cecil Jackson Road, Griffin, Georgia 30223. General Q&A in the Pavilion at 2pm then for all tour of the property and individual questions until 5pm Thanks for the years of support that you've given me while pursuing this nostalgic endeavor. It's now ready for someone to take it and do with it what they must, with love and care, of course. Price is non-negotiable $850k. If closing costs or commissions need to be included they must be tacked on top of the $850k.
