What's the most useful thing a mental health professional has ever said to you?

From April to October 2020, hospitals across the U.S. saw a 24% increase in the proportion of mental health emergency visits for children ages 5 to 11, and a 31% increase for children ages 12 to 17, according to the CDC.

Hollywood has a long history of misrepresenting people with mental health conditions, which contributes to harmful stereotypes about mental illness.

Skyland Trail will continue to practice public health prevention measures even after a majority of staff and adult patients are vaccinated.

The pandemic brings with it evidence of increasing anxiety and depression in Georgians under the age of 18. However, the latest preliminary data from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation show a significant drop in youth suicides through December 4, 2020.

The Skyland Trail adolescent residential treatment program was recently accepted as a member by the NATSAP - National Association of Therapeutic Schools and Programs.

Over the past year, the Skyland Trail Diversity and Inclusion Committee, which is composed of staff and board members, has started to make progress in a number of areas across the organization, from staff recruiting and retention to improvements in culturally competent care for our clients.
