SOAR Youth Rally 15.12.2020

SOAR Attendees...We regret to inform you that SOAR 2020 has been cancelled due to Covid-19. The school that we rent to host SOAR informed us today that they have to cancel all big events at the school (per the county superintendent). We're so sorry for any inconveniences that this has caused. If your group was registered for SOAR - Refunds will be made. Please check your email for a email from me (Jeremy) that we need you to respond to so we know all folks have been informed. Please send any correspondence to [email protected].

SOAR Youth Rally 01.12.2020

Bad News....SOAR 2020 has just been cancelled. We just got back from the local high school where SOAR is always held. The school had just been contacted by the county superintendent cancelling all big events including SOAR Youth Rally. With all the precautions going around with the Covid-19 virus, the country thought best to shut things down. After discussing things with our elders, the decision was made to cancel SOAR 2020 and look forward to SOAR 2021. We hate that this has... happened as much work and effort and energy has gone into making SOAR 2020 happen. And we hate we won't get to see everyone this year at this great event. So....many of you have already paid for your group....if you have, you will be reimbursed. We'll send a check back for the amount that you paid. The T-shirts for the Event have already been made. IF you/your group would still like the shirt, we will mail those to you. We would only charge $10 a shirt and then we can send you back the rest of your registration cost. If you haven't paid and want shirts, you can mail a check and we'll get it sent to you. At this time please EMAIL me back ([email protected]) letting me know that you received this and know that SOAR has been cancelled. In that email let me know if you still want your shirts or not. We're sorry again for any inconvenience that this has caused and we hope to see you back in 2021. If you have any questions or concerns please don't hesitate to contact us: Jeremy Hinote at 706-830-3229 or Sam Welsh (Our Youth Minister) at 423-779-6586. Dates for SOAR 2021 are March 19-21, 2021 In Him, Jeremy Hinote

SOAR Youth Rally 20.11.2020

SOAR Youth Rally 2020 COVID-19 Precautions Dear SOAR Participants, Out of an abundance of caution, we are trying to stay abreast of all the current CDC recommendations and make sure that we keep everyone as informed as we possibly can about the effects of the coronavirus and any changes that need to be made because of it.... We are dealing with the department of public health and one of the local health departments and are awaiting an answer as to any specific recommendations they may have for a group this size that will be here at SOAR next weekend. At this time there are no specific recommendations. Attached to this email is a couple of pieces of information that we’d like you to feel free to distribute to your individuals coming to SOAR. This information will provide details and information on how to best stay safe. Also attached to this email is a health screening checklist. It is the recommendation of one of the physicians in the Central congregation to have each SOAR participant fill out the health checklist. After filling it out, if there is a positive screening, they need to be fully evaluated by their local Healthcare provider before attending SOAR 2020. We certainly do not want to discourage anyone from attending, but want to be as careful as we can as to limit any potential exposure. We ask that each Point of Contact for each congregation attending please print off the screener and distribute those to each SOAR attendee. Have them fill it out, sign it, and return it to the Point of Contact. We would also advise that if any in your group has symptoms of what looks like the flu or even a common cold, that it may be wise and precautionary to keep them home and not allow them to come to SOAR. We want to be careful and safe, but also don't want to cause a panic as well. We ask that you please help us with this endeavor so that we do our best to keep everything safe and well. Thanks again! Jeremy Hinote
