While everyone has free time on their hands, I would like to remind you to seal your counter tops. Granite & Quartzite should be sealed once a year. Marble, Travertine, Dolomite, & other soft stones should be sealed twice a year. If you are not sure if your counter top needs to be sealed, pour a small amount of water on the counter top, if it soaks in within 30 minutes it is time to re-seal, if the water stays bubbled your sealer is still good. Sealing a counter top is not a... stressful process. You will need an impregnating sealer (They can be purchased at almost any hardware store). First, thoroughly clean your counter tops with dish soap and water to remove any grease. Second wipe with 50% rubbing alcohol to remove any built up residue. Third Wipe the counter top with a soft cloth that has been saturated with sealer. Let it dry thoroughly, clean with soap and water to remove any extra sealer. Remember, do not clean your natural stone with bleach, citric cleaners, or other harsh products, they will damage your tops and sealer. Always use 50% Rubbing alcohol when you wish to sanitize. Only use dish soap or a natural stone safe cleaner when cleaning.
