Don't Miss LIVE MUSIC with Micah Bonn! September 18th She’s a musical fireball always wearing a smile is how one festival goer describes a Micah Bonn show.... Micah is the 2019 Georgia Country Female Artist of the Year. In 2017, Micah won the Savannah Country Music Showdown in a duo with John Brown. Also, in 2017 she won the John Hartford Memorial Songwriting Contest in Bean Blossom, Indiana. She was the youngest person and to date the only female to have ever won the songwriting contest. (John Hartford wrote Gentle On My Mind.) In Sept of 2017, her show and abilities as a fiddler attracted the attention of The Kentucky Head Hunters who asked her to join them on stage at the Gram Parson's Memorial Festival in Waycross, Ga. The Head Hunters had never played with a fiddler or a teenager before her. She began her musical career when she was 8 playing fiddle in bands. Around 12 years old, she immersed herself in old time music and bluegrass. She won multiple vocal, fiddle, banjo, and mandolin contest across several states. Every summer for 6 years she spent summers in the Appalachian mountains studying with legendary traditional roots fiddlers. When she was 15 and 16 she was a member of 2 Americana bands singing and playing first with world renown banjo master, James McKinney. She was also the lead singer and played with 6 time Grammy award winning songwriter Louisa Branscomb from White, Ga in her band, Louisa Branscomb and Friends of Distinction.
