Our Backpack Buddies Program in Monroe County Schools helps provide supplemental food for students in need over the weekend. Many of these students rely on nourishment during the school day from our school meals. Since school is not in session this coming week we are going to do our best to continue to provide food for our students who need it. If you would like to donate the following items to this cause, we would greatly appreciate your support! Peanut butter/jelly Fruit cups/applesauce pouches Individually packaged cereals, granola bars, crackers, chips Canned fruit, veggies, meats, soups, meals (that can be opened without a can opener) Juice boxes Bottled water Instant oatmeal, grits Ramen noodles Paper products All food and Monetary donations/gift cards can be delivered to the Monroe County BOE to the attention of Gwen Byrd.
