Southern Volleyball Center is Home of A5. They are doing a shoe drive - so at our Adult open gyms please consider donating! See below for details - One of our core values -- the "5 C's" that comprise our name -- is Community Service. In that spirit, GA5 will be spearheading an opportunity to support another volleyball program who shares the same values as the A5 Family -- Nemostars, an amateur volleyball club in Uganda. One of our GA5 parents works with the founder of Ne...mostars, a fine organization that teaches life skills and coaching to teenagers and young adults through volleyball. Volleyball shoes are hard to find in Uganda and are very expensive if available. We would like to provide shoes for the girls so they can continue to pursue their volleyball aspirations as we do here in the United States. We are asking for each family to donate gently worn (fair to good condition) volleyball shoes to this great organization. Nemostars only has older girls in their program so we are asking for shoes that would fit ages 14 and up. The shoe drive will take place the entire month of January. Each club (GA5, A5, A5 South and A5 Chattanooga) will have a large box where you can drop off the shoes throughout the month. Shoes will be collected from each club twice during the month of January. All donations are due by January 30th. Knowing that we are a competitive bunch, we're offering a pizza party to the team that donates the greatest number of shoes. Thus, Team Communications Coordinators will need to track this and submit the totals to me (April Carroll) at the conclusion of the Drive. Please contact me at [email protected] with any questions. Today is the last day of Rust Buster Camp held by VolleyPerformance and in conjunction with A5 Mizuno Volleyball - we still have one camp left Aug 12-13 for the guys!
