Banking on a Duck Race on Peavine! Open Streets Emory Village is next weekend, Oct. 23-25. Careful safe duck race at 2 pm Sunday. Sign up for a free duck at SouthForkConservancy.Org. And love these Troop 18 boy scouts clearing the Peavine Banks for a good show.

If we were a football team, we'd be in the Super Bowl! Azaleas, Dog Hobble, Oak Leaf Hydrangeas, Beauty Berry thriving. Along the Peavine Trail we took Inventory of last winter's plantings Sept. 23, 2020 at the Water Garden. Vibrant success with the new native plantings. 61 plants and trees are thriving. 7 are dead. (really dead) 5 have simply disappeared. (Maybe dead, maybe just wandered off.) Only one is on the disabled list. Emory University does a great job clearing downed trees from the trail.

Adventure on the South Fork, kayaking with Amy Cromwell and her inflatable Challenger. Enough water (most of the time) with some bottom bumping. Okay, lots of creek walking. But we met a gorgeous heron in H. Taylor Park.

Success! Pete D finds four monarch caterpillars at Zonolite Garden, fattening on Milkweed we planted to reclaim this wonderful butterfly. Chrysalis to come, then hatching. And these children begin the one or two generation winter retreat to Mexico. Send your grandchildren back in March. We'll have more milkweed.

Our 72,000 pound bridge took flight today, rising about two feet in the air during a test run for the placement tomorrow. Watch it happen in this fun video by PLOT My Story
