Just some reminders here folks!! We now close at 6:00 p.m. We will be closed on Christmas Day, and will probably close early on Christmas Eve so check back here or call if you are planning a Christmas Eve trip. At this point, the only product we can assure you we will have in stock before Christmas is what we have in stock now, and it's disappearing fast. We still have a good selection of handguns, and a small selection of Ruger American youth bolt action rifles in 7mm-08. Th...ose are going fast and when they are gone we won't be able to re-stock them for a while. We do have scopes, but again, they are selling fast. We have a nice selection of Costa del Mar sunglasses, but again, we can't get anything in before Christmas at this point. If you aren't sure what to get for someone, we can easily do a gift card in any amount you wish!! Please come by as early as possible for the best selection of product!!!

Sportingarms will be closed Monday, May 25, 2020 to honor the men and women who died while serving in the U.S. military. We will reopen on Tuesday, May 26, 2020 with our regular hours of 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. (closed on Sundays.) For your edification, Memorial Day originated as Decoration Day in the years following the Civil War and became an official federal holiday in 1971. The wearing of a red poppy as a symbol of remembrance originated with an idea from the poem "In Fland...ers Field" written by the Canadian Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae. Later, a University of Georgia professor, Moina Mitchell, read the poem in an issue of Ladie's Home Journal and wrote her own poem in response, "We Shall Keep Faith." She was instrumental in getting the poppy recognized as a symbol of this faith and it started in Athens, GA! In Flanders Fields by John McCrae In Flanders fields the poppies blow Between the crosses, row on row, That mark our place; and in the sky The larks, still bravely singing, fly Scarce heard amid the guns below. We are the Dead. Short days ago We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow, Loved and were loved, and now we lie In Flanders fields. Take up our quarrel with the foe: To you from failing hands we throw The torch; be yours to hold it high. If ye break faith with us who die We shall not sleep, though poppies grow In Flanders fields.
