Office of Stafford County Sheriff A citizen recently wrote to us to thank Sergeant R.W. Jones, Master Deputy J.H. Truslow, and Deputy First Class D.J. Ferrell for their assistance with a medical emergency. In January, I was having a medical emergency that had rendered me delusional. The deputies received a call about the patient and responded. Although my information checked out they could tell something was not quite right with me. The deputies escorted the patient to ...the hospital for evaluation. Sergeant Jones and Deputies Truslow and Ferrell stayed with me to make sure I was safe and okay. Their ultimate professionalism and dedication are clearly apparent to me. I especially want to thank Deputy Ferrell. He was the transporting officer and he stayed with me through the whole event. He was kind, courteous, professional, and logical at all times. He interreacted with me like a professional should even though I was not in my right mind. The patient was cared for in the ICU for several days and recovered. I was lucky to survive and your department was a large part of that and I am eternally grateful. Sgt. Jones and Deputies Truslow and Ferrell are recognized as #OutstandingDeputies for exhibiting the Sheriff’s Office’s core values of compassion and professionalism. See more

Goose Creek Police Department Meet Officer C. Sylvester. She is a SRO at Stratford High School and has been with the police department for four years. Originally from New York, Officer Sylvester came to us with a bachelor’s degree and a great attitude to affect change. She enjoys bridging the gap between the police and youth in our community. In her off time she is a self proclaimed foodie trying different restaurants and cuisines around the low country. Thank you, Officer Sylvester for all that you do!
