He is our JOY, He is our LOVE- pure, holy, undying love. Whoever believed in Him will never perish but have eternal life. Fourth Sunday of Advent. As we think about the coming of Jesus Christ, we light the candle of love. How great is the love the Father has lavished on us. (1 John 3:1). This is how God showed His love, He sent His one and only son into this world that we might live through Him. (1 John 4:9). A new command I give you: love one another, as I have loved you, so you must love one another. All men will know that you are my disciples if you love one another. Third Sunday in Advent: The Candle of Joy. It symbolizes our joy at the coming of Christ. Sometimes it is rose colored, in contrast to the purple of the other candles, to symbolize this joy. May the joyful promise of your presence, O God, make is rejoice in our hope of salvation. O Come, O Come Emmanuel. Scripture: Luke 2:7-15... Second Sunday in Advent: The Candle of Peace (Two Purple candles lit). We light this candle as a symbol of Christ the Way.
