In 2020, you changed lives by supporting our programs in mentoring, housing support, and outreach. Thanks to you, StandUp for Kids continues to stand with the homeless youth in our communities, envisioning a different reality together where brokenness is replaced by wholeness, and families can thrive. We give thanks for your generosity and compassion. You are a partner in restoration. www.standupforkids.org/donate #TogetherWeStand #TogetherWeGive #EndTheCycle #OneLifeAtATime (: StandUp for Kids - Silicon Valley)
For 30 years, we have been working to #EndTheCycle of #YouthHomelessness. This work is about more than providing for important basic needs. It is about empowering young people to see a future that seems unclear from their current circumstances where they have moved from surviving to thriving. You can be a part of that story. #StandUpNow with us: www.standupforkids.org/donate #TogetherWeStand #TogetherWeGive #MondayMotivation
Up to 40% of homeless youth identify as LGBTQ. One in five transgender people in the United States has been discriminated against when seeking a home, and more than one in ten have been evicted from their homes, because of their gender identity. StandUp for Kids has been working to end youth homelessness for three decades. We are not finished. www.standupforkids.org/donate #TogetherWeStand #TogetherWeGive #EndTheCycle #AllMeansAll #FridayFacts
In this time of fresh starts and new possibilities, we invite you to join our movement and stand with the most vulnerable youth in your community. Powerful things happen when you have hope and dignity. www.standupforkids.org/donate #TogetherWeStand #TogetherWeGive #EndTheCycle #OneLifeAtATime
StandUp for Kids is fueled by energetic people with a strong sense of social justice for our most vulnerable young people. As our nation honors the life of civil rights giant Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., we salute all who are fighting silent battles every day. We want your path to the future to be clear. #TogetherWeStand #TogetherWeGive #StandUpNow #Dignity #YouthHomelessness #EndTheCycle #OneLifeAtATime #MLKDayOfService #MLK
Ensuring that young people are connected to caring adults so they can thrive is a mission that requires widespread action. Particularly as we’ve endured a time of collective physical isolation and look to our recovery, we must actively prioritize relationship building as core to health, equity, and opportunity. On this International #MentoringDay we salute and thank all mentors parents, caregivers, families, educators, school staff, and volunteers who give their time and passion to support young people to achieve their dreams! #MentoringMonth #MentoringAmplifies #TogetherWeStand #TogetherWeGive
An estimated 50 percent of homeless youth are unsheltered sleeping outside, in a car, or some place not meant for human habitation. These numbers are imprecise, and the single night number is likely an undercount. When you’re sheltering at home, what about the homeless? StandUp for Kids has been working to end youth homelessness for three decades. We are not finished. www.standupforkids.org/donate #WeStandUpForKids #FridayFact #NationalHomelessYouthAwarenessMonth
Each year, an estimated 4.2 million youth and young adults experience homelessness, of which 700,000 are unaccompanied minors. Over the course of a year, it is estimated that approximately 550,000 unaccompanied youth and young adults up to age 24 experience a homelessness episode of longer than one week. More than half are under the age of 18. StandUp for Kids has been working to end youth homelessness for three decades. We are not finished. www.standupforkids.org/donate #WeStandUpForKids #WednesdayWisdom #NationalHomelessYouthAwarenessMonth
November is National Homeless Youth Awareness Month, a time to raise awareness for children and families dealing with homelessness and educate the public on ways to help end homelessness. StandUp for Kids was one of the organizations that pushed for this resolution for the month of November in Congress and got it approved in 2007. As a result of family rejection, discrimination, criminalization, and a host of other factors, LGBTQIA+ youth represent as much as 40% of the homeless youth population. Of that population, studies indicate that as many as 60% are likely to attempt suicide. Our kids and teens need us to stand beside them. Take a pledge to speak up against hate and intolerance whenever and wherever you see it. bit.ly/SUFKdonate #StandUpNow #EndTheCycle #OneLifeAtATime #LGBTQHistoryMonth
On this #ThankfulThursday, we want to thank all of YOU who help us make a difference in the lives of at-risk and homeless young people. We are grateful to our incredible volunteers for the many ways they tirelessly serve the youth who rely on us to show up for them every day, especially during this time of crisis. Thank you for shining a light on the work we are doing to #EndYouthHomelessness. www.standupforkids.org/donate #EndTheCycle #OneLifeAtATime
The uncertainty and anxiety we now feel with COVID-19 is only a glimpse of what many families face daily. The single greatest need for homeless and street kids is continuous caring and real support. Our kids tell us that when someone believes in them, they believe more in themselves. They say that they get a sense of belonging, like family, from people who care. www.standupforkids.org/donate #StandUpNow #EndTheCycle #OneLifeAtATime #WednesdayWisdom
Investing in our youth is ALWAYS a good decisionnot only because it benefits them, but also because it benefits our community. https://www.standupforkids.org/donate #StandUpNow #Mentoring #EndYouthHomelessness #OneLifeAtATime #TuesdayThoughts

Each of our chapters around the country differs in size and scope. Some of our newer programs have fewer than ten core volunteers while others have upwards of 100 volunteers. Each chapter has a leadership team to maintain strategic direction, coordinate its programs, support volunteers, fundraise, liaise with other community organizations, and ensure we have what we need to effectively serve our youth. We would love to welcome you as our next volunteer! Find a chapter and get involved: https://www.standupforkids.org/where-we-are #StandUpNow #EndYouthHomelessness #OneLifeAtATime
We are thankful for our youth who trust us to walk alongside them and empower them to fearlessly pursue their hopes and dreams. We cannot do this alone. www.standupforkids.org/donate #ThankfulThursday #StandUpNow #EndTheCycle #OneLifeAtATime
We are grateful for communities of helpers who care for one another, and we especially need to think about those in more vulnerable situations than our own. Thank you for helping us sustain and grow so that we can continue to serve our young neighbors. www.standupforkids.org/donate #WednesdayWisdom #StandUpNow #EndYouthHomelessness #OneLifeAtATime
Since joining StandUp for Kids - Orange County in March, RJ feels his mentors give him patience, love, guidance, and the attention he has been missing his whole life. RJ has been sober for a little over five months. He believes that if he can get through adversity, others can too. RJ's purpose in life is to leave something behind. With his positive attitude and his perseverance, there is no doubt that he will do just that. You can read more of RJ’s story here: http://bit.ly/RJandStandUp #TuesdayTransformation #StandUpNow #EndTheCycle #OneLifeAtATime

Our planet needs a new story, and it is up to US to write it. What would you change from our current system to come out of COVID-19 with a better world? With so much injustice happening in the world, we cannot just go back to normal. #StandUpNow: bit.ly/SUFKdonate #YouthHomelessness #EndTheCycle #OneLifeAtATime
