@luke_harris_racing just got some power meters for his @iamspecialized_mtb #EPICHT and @iamspecialized_road #CRUX So we figured it would be a great time for some clarity and education on why this is such an incredible tool to have! What is a power meter? A power meter is a device used on a bicycle to measure the power output of the rider. Most power meters use strain gauges to measure torque applied, and when combined with angular velocity, calculate power. Why do I need ...a power meter? Accuracy. Watts are a much more accurate way to measure your effort since they show the actual workload your body is putting out versus heart rate, which is a measure of your body’s response to the workload. Knowing your strengths and weaknesses. Maximize your training time. Race day planning. How do I get a power meter for my bike?
