To quote a line from my favorite Christmas movie, "I'm 'specially psyched out of my MIND" to announce that the approaching New Year will bring with it the launch of the new law firm of ETHERIEDGE & STOVALL, LLC! I am extremely excited to be partnering up with David Etheriedge, an excellent lawyer and an even better person. He's such a good guy, in fact, that I was willing to let my one and only daughter marry one of the fine young men that David has raised! Our practices com...plement each other perfectly. David handles estate planning (wills, trusts, etc.) and administration (probate) matters, and corporate matters for both businesses and nonprofits (entity formation, governing documents, transactions). While I also handle those kinds of corporate matters, I have 20+ years of experience litigating business, construction, and real estate disputes of all kinds. Together, we have the skills, experience, and contacts with other legal specialists to provide full service representation for business owners and nonprofit boards in Atlanta and North Georgia. My business address will stay the same since I already have been sharing office space with David for over a year, and our websites and email addresses will keep working and will forward to the new ones once we've got it all lined up. Good Monday morning from beautiful Cumming, GA. I hope everyone is having a great 2016 so far! In this first post in the new year, I want to announce that I am now handling business entity formations, business/construction/real estate contract reviews, and business transactional matters, in addition to handling disputes involving business, contract, real estate, and construction matters like I always have (from preparing or responding to demand letters, through litigation a...nd appeals). 20 years of handling the litigation when something goes wrong in a deal or on a project, and seeing how the contractual documents the parties signed at the beginning of their interaction do or do not help bring an orderly resolution to the dispute, is helpful experience to bring to the drafting process on the front end that might save time and money down the road.
