It's not every day that you come across a deed document that is almost 150 years old. Things like this are just really cool to me. Wow!

Spent the morning measuring these massive oak trees for a very responsible developer trying to save them. The tree closest to the truck is 56 in Dia. (4’8) the second is 50. Combined they had about almost a 100’ canopy. Awesome. Love my job.

Well as you can see all the pests a surveyor faces are not always in the woods.

Here is a prime example of why you get a survey. 1st pic: draw a straight line between the flagged pin and the stake in the distance and then follow that line straight through. That’s where the neighbor’s property corners. 2nd pic: draw a straight line between the pink stake to the darker portion of the fence in the distance. That is the neighbor’s property line. Oops. I’m not sure how much fencing is, but I’m sure the neighbor didn’t want to pay for about 175’ of fencing ...to be built twice. And I’m real sure his neighbor would like to have the use of his property back. Lesson: surveys are cheaper than installing and removing fences twice. See more

Ok, I had an amazing day today with our new Carlson BRX6+ GPS system. Here is a video of where we were and what we were locating. Technology is truly an amazing thing.

Would like to give a big shout out to Dr. James Owers. We have had a few hurdles on this one, and still dealing with a very difficult situation with a very powerful neighbor, but we will get through it. Dr. Owers has recognized the difficulties we are dealing with and has acknowledged that fact when paying his invoice. We always strive to exceed our clients expectations and its very nice when they notice.
