8-31-2020. We are getting excited about the kids coming back to the gym. 7 months has been a long time. I have missed them so much. We will have to meet strict protocols in order to remain as safe as possible. We will do what we must for them. This year's focus will be to get each kid reading at grade level. We are going to meet two days a week. Wednesday is science and math. Thursday is reading and AA studies. With a focus on improving mile stone prep testing. Please helps us through giving and prayer.
The flower that blooms in adversity is the rarest and most beautiful of all.

Finding engaging ways to teach our rich local African American Macon Middle Georgia history and simultaneously develop Milestone Test skillsets.
First African American PhD at Brown, Local Iconic African American Historic Scientist. This man should be known by every AA child aspiring to go to college! Samuel Milton Nabrit Biography 1905-2003... Biologist, educator, university president A celebrated marine biologist who specialized in studying the ability of fish to regrow their fins after injury or disease, Samuel Nabrit was the first black representative on the United States Atomic Energy Commission. In a long career, Nabrit found success on many fronts. He was the first alumnus of Morehouse College to receive a doctorate and the first black to be awarded a Ph.D. at Brown University. He served on various committees under three United States presidents and as president of Texas Southern University he steered the institution through many years of civil rights protests and change. Commenting late in life on the difficulties he experienced in advancing his own career, Nabrit is reported to have said that "no kite can rise unless it's going against the wind." Born on February 21, 1905, in Macon, Georgia, Samuel Milton Nabrit was the son of James M. Nabrit, a Baptist minister and teacher, and Augusta G. West. He was one of eight children, all of whom received a college education; his brother James became president of Howard University. Nabrit attended schools in Macon and received his bachelor's degree in biology from Morehouse College in 1925. Nabrit was hired as an instructor in zoology at Morehouse in the same year and taught there until 1931; he was made professor of biology in 1928, the same year as he married Constance Crocker. At the same time he attended Brown University, where he was awarded an M.S. in 1928 and a Ph.D. in biology in 1932. He was the first African American to be awarded a Ph.D. at Brown and the first Morehouse graduate to receive a doctorate. He later became Brown University's first black trustee, serving between 1967 and 1972. https://www.google.com/imgres
Lord, I miss my boys. Can not wait to get them all together again. I've been praying everyday for them. Hopefully I can get them to the gym in a couple of weeks.
Please pray for my sons. They will be home for the next several weeks. Idle minds and hands are the devil's workshop. I wish I could do something with the but circumstances dictate otherwise. Pray pray pray. Thank you
3-4-20. It's a great night at Street to Success. Lots of love going around. Lots of help. Reading reading and more reading. We were totally blessed. Hard work and study it's our way.
This is how we motivate youth to want to learn!
2-26-20. Another energy filled night at tutoring. After a great meal from Texas Border Grill we settled in for some learning. Our tutors applied some pressure and all our work was completed. Finished with some history lessons and called it a good night.
Our East Macon Lab. Our children are led by Ms.Cheryl Knight and Mr.Charles Smith. Along with Mrs.Earley and son Marc Earley. These kids are all very bright and you know Ms.Knight very respectful. They are so blessed to have these hearts on their side.
Today 2-12-20 was William Wimberly day. He was awarded Street to Success Student of the Quarter by Macon Downtown Rotary Club. Our favorite Judge, Verda Colvin was there to share an encouraging words and hug.
