The Super Flower Blood Moon over the Blood mountain range! Being a landscape photography I like putting everything into the landscape. Like wildlife, I love shooting wildlife but I'd prefer to put it into it's surrounding landscape rather than a head shot. Just my preference. So while shooting the eclipse I wanted to add it into a landscape. The moon during the eclipse was straight up pretty much so it was difficult to add into the landscape. So I did several images and ble...nded them together to create this scene. I did one of the moon just before the total eclipse just to add a little shine. Then I took several images of the store to get all the detail. The lights in the store are much brighter than the surrounding area so that was a battle. So I took one just for the store lights. I took an image with a little longer exposure to capture some stars and Coosa Bald in the distance. I took an image of the old truck in front of me so I could get the detail there. I knew it was going to be a challenge blending all together but I'll have to say I'm pleased with how it turned out!:) It was a fun little project. Chris and I went back and forth with ideas on how to pull off what each of us shot. See more

Tomorrow morning on GPB at 9am we return to the mountains to showcase the upper Chattahoochee River and it's birth place right here in Blairsville GA! Here is a photo from the episode. I did a long exposure and caught the water spinning around in the pool in the foreground. If you can't watch it live you can always record and watch later:). Have a great weekend!

Still one of my favorite photos ever! While shooting the moon last year above Vogel I caught Santa and his reindeer making his pass over Blairsville!! I had to hurry back so he could deliver to my house!:) Merry Christmas everyone and enjoy this beautiful white Christmas!:)
