More pavilion building at Talking Rock Nature Preserve with Ken Nix and Tim Kennedy. We are looking for a local roofer to help put up and secure the trusses and install a metal roof. The trusses were previously part of a retailer’s garden center roof. This project’s quality is even better than expected and the cost is lower than budgeted. Materials were funded thanks to a $500 donation from the Appalachian Beekeepers Association of Georgia, $1,510 in individual donations, and a $2,010 match from Southeastern Trust for Parks and Land! Pavilions at Talking Rock! Help raise the money to pay for the materials for two 12' x 16' pavilions at Talking Rock Nature Preserve. The budget is $10,000 with $2,500 committed as match from STPAL and $500 already contributed by 5 individual $100 donors in July. We only need $7,000 more. Please consider donating. Talking Rock Nature Preserve submitted a grant application through a program funded by this act. It includes common area improvements, disc golf course, adventure trail, and a hard surface pump track! Fingers crossed.
