Sad times ahead.... From an article sent in to the Pickens County Progress, our local paper and a good friend of Tater Patch Players: The best laid plans of Tater Patch Players have gone dramatically awry. The theater had just begun to cope with the restrictions of COVID-19. They had completed two out of three weekends of a delightful one-act comedy. The audiences were very receptive and they seemed to appreciate the ushers attempts to maintain social distance and laugh a...Continue reading

Christmas is just around the corner. Here at Tater Patch Players we are celebrating small steps as we recover and rebuild after a broken pipe flooded our first floor. Our volunteers and contractors have worked very hard these last few months to do everything they can to get the curtains open and the stage lights on. Our next season is being planned, but we aren't quite ready to announce it yet. Our theater's income is from ticket sales when we put on a production. COVID-19 sh...ut us down earlier this year and then the broken pipe shut us down again. Insurance is helping us rebuild, but we still have monthly bills to pay. Please help your local community theater by going to taterpatchplayers.org and making a donation. Any size donation, whether small or large would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for making Tater Patch Players the best little theater in North Georgia!

NOW PLAYING Well. nothing much is playing right now. Sadly, we’d just learned to deal with the COVID-19 restrictions for performance venues and mounted our first production, The Aurelia Women’s Garden and Flower Show Gala Planning Committee. The five cast members and director were enjoying performing this one-act play for socially-distanced, but very happy, patrons. Just before the final weekend of the show, more trouble struck. Members who were meeting to decide what kind o...f show we could do for September decided to meet at the theater. There they were greeted by an inch or so of water in the lobby. A pipe up in the dressing room area, part of the original building, had burst and flooded the lobby, storage area, offices and kitchen. The only bright light is that the water did not come near the new seats! Anyway, we’ve had meetings with our insurance folks and water removal and damage remediation. Now we’re deciding who will be doing all the new floors, baseboards, cabinets, etc. sigh. Things are looking a little bleak for your community theater right now. Our insurance coverage is fantastic, our bank is being enormously understanding. But here we are, with no theater, no show and NO income. Please stay tuned here and on our Facebook pages as we keep you up to date on our reconstruction and revival! We hope to see everyone soon and that you will keep us in your thoughts for the next few months.
