These court records are better than any mystery I’ve ever read.

We have a VERY LIMITED supply of this cotton tea towel that was printed to benefit the restoration of Cedar Grove Methodist Church, in the Elza Community of Tattnall, now surrounded by prison land. We have only 16 left, to be exact. If you would like one before they are gone, now is the time. You can get one locally via pickup for 10. Or it can be mailed by adding postage. Send a message and we'll give you more info. As you can see, the thin dish towel, called a tea towel, is large. It can be displayed as a historical decoration or it can be used for its purpose of drying dishes or covering bread as it rises or a million other kitchen uses. The church restoration is going well, although slowly. We replaced the roof & then rebuilt windows and doors from scratch. Now we are replacing spots of rotted wood in the structure.

Why, do you think, did so many men use initials 100 years ago and why is this so rare now? This photo is from 1913.

Divorce from 1913 she refused to care, love, cook, keep house, sew. It’s amazing to see both how much and how little the roles of women have changed.
