Tattnall County Tax Commissioner’s office is currently closed until further notice due to an employee testing positive for Covid 19. Our office is being disinfected and sanitized. We are sorry for any inconvenience.

In observance of Martin Luther King Jr. our office will be closed Monday, January 18, 2021. Normal hours with resume on Tuesday, January 19.

DRIVES UPGRADE REMINDER The tag & title system is officially down all through the State of Georgia. There will be no in office or online transactions available today January 13 - January 18. Our office will remain open Wednesday, January 13 - Friday, January 15 normal business hours for Property Tax payments ONLY If you have any questions, feel free to call our office @ 912-557-6736.

Please note that our office will be closing earlier on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 @ 3:30PM to prepare for the tag/title system update. The Statewide tag system will be going through an update from January 13 - January 18. All tag or title work will be unable to process during this time period. Please note that the DOR e-services will also be unable to process transactions. The system should be back up January 19, 2021.

PSA: Interest on property taxes is now due on anything that was not paid by the due date on December 15, 2020. Interest is applied and enforced in compliance with GA Code 48-2-40. Please do not come in and ask to be an exemption to the law. My staff has worked many long hours with lines of customers for days and are working on the large mass of mail that has come in at the last minute. I appreciate your understanding and compliance and hope that you, as a taxpayer of Tattnall County, respect the fact that we must follow the law. PSA: Having a birthday in January or February? Stay ahead of the lines and renew your vehicle registration by January 12. Tattnall County is partnering with the Georgia Department of Revenue - Motor Vehicle Division to upgrade to a new version of Georgia DRIVES for title and vehicle registration services. All statewide tag offices will be unable to process vehicle transactions January 13-18. Please be advised you may experience longer wait times when coming into the office. I ask that you have patience and understanding with my clerks when coming into the office.
