B.J. has been a resident of Smyrna since 1971. A retired building contractor, he purchased a lathe and began turning wood for fun in 2003 and discovered a new p...assion. He enjoys making many useful objects from wood and especially bowls and platters. He always acquires his materials from "green" sources in that he rescues trees which have been cut due to storm damage, necessary thinning or new construction. He has been known to haul chunks of wood from distances such as California, Oregon, Maryland and Texas for recycling into art. B.J. is a member of both the American Association of Woodturners and the Georgia Association of Woodturners. See more
