On Friday October 24, 2020 around 10:00pm Officers were dispatched to an address on Montgomery St. for a missing person. Upon arrival they spoke with the female complainant that advised her husband (Thomas Cash) had not returned home. After work he typically will go to his mother’s house (Clair Cash) on Carrollton St. in Temple to assist her because she suffers from Dementia. When finished at his mother’s house he will return home for the rest of the night. The complainant al...so noticed that Mr. Cash had left his phone at the residence and that his truck was at his mother’s house but her vehicle was missing. Around 11:30pm Officers made contact with the complainant again and met with her at the residence on Carrollton St. to obtain vehicle information for a look out to be broadcasted and a possible Mattie’s call. After obtaining the needed information, officers began riding around areas of the city that they were known to frequent, like the Temple Senior Center and church they attended. Cpl. Thompson then checked the area of Asbury Cemetery and located the mother’s vehicle parked near the pavilion. Cpl. Thompson then located Mr. Cash and his mother deceased inside the pavilion. Based on the evidence investigators determined that Mr Cash shot his mother, and then himself. The incident appears to be an isolated murder/suicide incident. See more
