If you’re having a hard time because you won’t be able to experience your typical traditions with family and friends, travel to your hometown or can’t afford to buy all the gifts on your holiday lists, speak up and share your disappointment. While you’re voicing your frustrations, you’re also opening the door for others to share their thoughts and feelings, which creates a circle of support and understanding

Families and Schools is not just CAFE. We offer two different program options for your community or school. We are dedicated to the success of the children in our community and work to bring families closer together to ensure that success. We provide needed resources to parents by working with community partners and offering referrals to families in need. We build a sense of community through the programs by encouraging relationships to be built among the participants to ensure social networks are formed. It takes a village to raise a child, Families and Schools is dedicated to being a building block for that village. Contact us to bring one of our Family Engagement Programs to your school or community.

Having a mental illness can make it challenging to live everyday life and maintain recovery. Let’s look at some of the ways mental illness can impact lives and how the impact can ripple out. #MentalIllnessAwarenessWeek #MIAW

The Family Center 20.06.2020

This week is Mental Illness Awareness Week. 1 in 5 adults in the U.S. experience a mental illness each year, while 1 in 6 youth (between 6-17 years old) experience a mental health disorder each year. Although mental illnesses are prevalent, there is a lack of education and awareness which leads to increased stigma around Mental Illness and to fewer people seeking the help or treatment they need. This week we will be focusing on different Mental Illnesses or topic each day to... spread awareness #MIAW #MentalIllnessAwarenessWeek
