The Macon Baking Company

We came across The Macon Baking Company today after leaving Grey Goose Players Club for our Burger Week story. It's hard to resist a bakery, so we popped in. Al...though it's been around for years, it is new to us and there is always a slight feeling of excitement in anything new. The large array of cupcakes, cookies, and confections was artistically arranged. Everything tempted the eye, screaming for immediate purchase. We settled on a gooey butter Cookie, a key lime cupcake and two oreo stuffed choclate chip cookies. The gooey butter cookie has a very delicate texture and coated with powdered sugar. It dissolves in your mouth and releases a cascade of sweet buttery flavor. We have never experienced anything like it, and it is on the short list of the best cookies we have ever tried. The key lime is an old standby and was up to the task. Tart sweetness in every bite. We have not tried the other two cookies, as they are being reserved for two kids, but they are almost too tempting. Give this small local business a try as they are in our small business spotlight.
