This Sunday June 28th, at 10am HeartLink therapist Maria Soler will be presenting a webinar on how to deal with the effects of the pandemic. This is part of a series organized by a group of Argentine psychotherapists in Atlanta and will be held in Spanish since it was organized as a result of the demand from the Latin American community. We extend the invite to all who speak (or only understand!) Spanish. Looking forward to seeing many of you! "We are taught that love is many things, but rarely do we think of love as risky, as disruptive, as noisy, as angry, as causing holy trouble. But I am convinced that the pursuit of justice is loving and this kind of love shakes the tables." - Austin Channing Brown Celebrating Juneteenth with you.

We at HeartLink Counseling believe that the work of antiracism is central to our mission of helping people love and feel loved. We are listening to the anguish, fear, anger and trauma systemic racism and oppression have caused Black communities for generations. We are also turning inward to reflect on how we have both gained from and unconsciously participated in those same oppressive systems. About why it has taken us this long to see it more clearly and speak up more boldl...y. We are going to keep listening. And making space to center Black voices. We are going to keep reflecting. On our Whiteness and privilege. Owning our role. We are going to act, and re-commit as necessary to play an active role in the healing work of antiracism. To start, we are: 1) Donating $500 to The New Georgia Project @newgeorgiaproject - a non-partisan effort that has a goal to register all eligible, unregistered citizens of color in Georgia by the end of the decade 2) Reading Me and White Supremacy: Combat Racism, Change the World, and Become a Good Ancestor by Layla F. Saad @laylafsaad 3) Continuing to share on our social media the inspiring Black Women and Men who are working tirelessly to re-educate us @blackandembodied @rachel.cargle @ibramxk @theconsciouskid @sonyareneetaylor To our colleagues, clients, and community - you are welcome to join us, ask questions, process the block of White shame, teach (only if desired), share resources, and continue in the ongoing and deeply human journey of anti-racism work. "Do the best you can until you know better. Then when you know better, do better." ~Maya Angelou @mayaangelouquotes #antiracism #doingbetter #loveandfeelloved #heartlinkcounseling
