It’s almost that time of year again, Wolves... Formerly known as, RecycleMania, UWG is once again competing against several other colleges/universities in the Campus Race to Zero Waste event to see who can recycle the most in hopes to take the title of this earth-conscious competition! This competitive event will take place from February 1st-March 27th, 2021, and Wolves, we need YOUR help in achieving this victory against other campuses world wide! Look for the big bottle recycling bins across UWG’s campus, and let’s get ready to Race to Zero Waste!

Two former Student Assistants here at The Coliseum, Michael McDowell (‘14, ‘17) and Dana Tzegaegbe (‘15), are honorees in UWG’s 2021 Thriving Under 30! A HUGE congratulations to both of you on your accomplishments as UWG alumni! We are so proud of you both, and can’t wait to see you continue to shine in your work fields! Senior Spotlight Congratulations to our Event Operations Intern, Larisa Smith on graduating this semester! Larisa received her Bachelor's in Sport Management with a Minor in Accounting. ... Larisa's advice: "It's never about the journey, but rather it's about the destination. Trials and tribulations will happen, but making it across the finish line makes it all worth it" Congratulations again to Larisa Smith!!!

Senior Spotlight Congratulations to Brianne Dobbs, our Graduate Assistant of Event Operations, on graduating this semester!! Brianne received her Master of Science in Sport Management this past Saturday. Brianne started her journey here with us at The Coliseum as a student assistant in January 2019 and became our G.A. 1 year later in January 2020. ... Brianne's advice: "It's okay not to get straight A's. There needs to be a balance of school and focusing on your own wellbeing including your mental health, in order to be a successful student".

#Throwback to when our Live Event Production team filmed a football game last year! Our students are not only getting a quality hands-on experience at The Coliseum, but they are also huge contributors to the success of the entire operation The Coliseum is involved with. UWG alumnus and former Coliseum Student Assistant, Tyrell Adams, said it himself in a 2014 Instagram caption. He knew he was destined for greatness, and he showed that this past Sunday with his team, the Houston Texans! During the game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, Tyrell met a career high, and a team high with 13 tackles! Congratulations, Tyrell! The Coliseum is rooting for you! Amazing things happen when you #GoWest!

A fun fact about Savannah is that she is a HUGE sports fan (specifically the NFL) and always has her game day count downs ready to go!! If she is not watching Football and in her spare time, you'll probably catch her also listening to a "True Crime" podcast. We are excited to introduce and welcome Savannah Gantt to our team!

For today’s #MeetTheTeamMonday, we are introducing our Business Operations Graduate Assistant, Wes Terry! A fun fact about Wes is that he is a huge SEC fan and has visited over half of the SEC stadiums around the country! We are so happy to have you on board with us, Wes! Welcome to the team!
