West Georgia Farmer's Cooperative (WGFC) hosted farmer delegates from the US Virgin Islands for their two-week tour of Georgia. The delegates visited member farms of the cooperative. The farewell dinner was held at This Old Farmhouse GA. Delegates received a museum tour. They enjoyed Caribbean music, and a catered Caribbean dinner, supplied by WGFC. Each member of the delegation shared some of the farming knowledge they had learned and the experiences they gained during their visit. It was an evening filled with fellowship and solidarity.

Dr, Veronica Womack, founder of the Black Farmers Network, heard about our story and requested an interview. Candace Dantes,(a.k.a Cowgirl Candace) a southern storyteller, blogger and feature writer for Black Farmers Network conducted the phone interview and on March 30th, she and professional photographer, Trarell Torrence, conducted a site visit and photo shoot. The article appeared on the Black Farmers Network and Southern Styles and Steeds sites under the title "All-Femal...e Farming Family Unearths 1920's Tourism,Textile Goldmine". This was one of the most exciting events of This Old Farmhouse GA Inc. this season! Admittedly, it's often all work and little playtime for our team when we all get together. Not this time around. They were able to capture our farmhouse story through words and amazing pictures. The article was informative, very well-written and a joy to read. Thank you for sharing our story. You all made our day!!

Each year we attend the West Georgia Farmers Cooperative Annual Dinner. The food comes from local farmers with some being donated by members. The meal is prepared by a local chef. It is a delicious farm-to-table dinner. While dining, there are inspiring speakers and musical selections. The event is open to the public.

The Heard County Historical Society visited the farmhouse on April 19th. They currently operate two historical attractions, The Historic Jail and Gulf Oil museums. Both of them are located in the heart of Franklin, GA. They toured the farmhouse and the grounds. At the conclusion of the guided tour, most completed the evaluation form which instructed them to rate key aspects of the tour. We are grateful for their suggestions and comments. We really enjoyed their visit and look forward to their next visit with us!
