Since there is so much activity on this page I just want to post some facts so that everyone who comes here will be able to understand what has happened. Fact 1 we hosted a 9u tournament with 8 random teams that wanted to play at our park. Fact 2 the the championship game was between the Creekview Grizzles and Bartow Locos... Fact 3 the Locos were 0-2 going into bracket play and had not raised any game issues. Fact 4 I was out of town on business and the guys that got the field ready did not do it correctly. The Locos coaching staff had to move the bases and reset them. Fact 5 I thanked and have continued to thank them for there help with the field Friday night. Fact 6 the Locos won 2 bracket games to get them into the championship. Fact 7 the Locos were winning thru the 3rd inning of the championship game. At this time I was still unaware of any Ump, field, game, bathroom, tire or any other issues that have been posted throughout the weekend. Fact 8 they claim the umps made several bad calls ( all judgement calls ). Out of anyone’s control. I have had a conversation with our lead umpire. Fact 9 Locos player came home and was tagged out. Coach’s and parents got irate and started yelling more. At this point the Locos were losing in the fifth inning. It was a 6 inning game and they could have come back. Fact 10 after yelling at both umps and being asked to leave. Coach said you can ask me to leave but you are not going to tell me. (Not the right answer when an Ump ejects you from the game) The Locos coach them picked up third base and threw it across the infield and told his team to leave the park. As they left they were yelling, cussing, flicking people off and peeling out. Sheriff’s office was called. Last fact. They forfeited the championship game and have gone on here to vent. Anyone who was not there can now form there own opinion based on the facts about the incident and our park in general.

To all teams that participated in this weekends tournament. Thank you all for coming out to play. We apologize if the facilities were not up to your standards. We pride ourselves on being a local field, and non commercialized. It takes tireless hours and efforts for these tournaments to happen, and a lot of help from friends and families. At the end of the day, let’s all remember a few things here: 1. This is a 9u tournament, not professional 2. These kids play this game for ...LOVE OF THE GAME. 3. These players are not getting paid, nor are the coaches. 4. Baseball is called a game for a reason, it is a GAME. 5. Baseball at this age is still dependent on human decisions. These umpires do not have video review, and quite honestly, baseball is better without it. We appreciate those if you that have supported us throughout the years, and understand what it takes to manage, maintain, host, prepare, and complete these tournaments. We have a lot of folks that appreciate the nostalgia of our facility, and we are trying to make improvements every chance we get. Please be understanding in that we don’t have the cash flow like the commercialized, tax revenue based facilities. If you have any concerns, we will be sure to address them.

We played this weekend in the 7u Hickory Flat Bash! It was an awesome tournament and I will definitely return next season for the 8u Tournament. The field st...aff did an excellent job with field maintenance and went above and beyond to get the field ready for play after strong storms. The TD, (Bryan Thomas) and his crew ran an awesome tournament and couldn't have been more pleased to participate in this event. It was a pleasure meeting new coaches from the various baseball program and sharing information to better our team.
