We are working on a little project here and perhaps you could help. This is based on the Summer Reading theme of Tales and Tails and we are collecting family re...cipes AND the stories that go with them. Are you the keeper of THE chili recipe? Do you make the cake that grandma used to make for every family reunion? We want that recipe AND we want that story. We are hoping to get enough to work with to produce a cookbook. For all the people who have asked me over the years for my recipe for Groundnut Stew -- I wrote it down for this book. I have been making it since I learned to make it in the 1970s in Nigeria, but never had a recipe. The measurements were a bit of a pain, because I usually just start with a pile of meat that corresponds with the number of people I plan on feeding. :-) But, I did it! People who live locally and would like to contribute a recipe will get a copy of the cookbook. Non-local people, I will negotiate.... your copy might be an ebook. And, if you don't contribute, perhaps a donation would be in order. Contact me for more details, if you need them. See more

Thanks to the Exchange Club of Tifton for all they do to improve the lives of children and their families. The Exchange Club of Tifton presented over $13,000 in grants to area programs and organizations that are on the front lines of fighting and treating child abuse. These funds were raised by the 2021 Bids for Kids Virtual Auction.

Georgia ranks 38th in the nation for overall child and family well-being in the 2021 KIDS COUNT Data Book, released today by The Annie E. Casey Foundation. The ...pandemic posed serious struggles for our families while long-standing disparities persisted. We must invest in our communities and seize every opportunity that materializes from the past year to help all kids thrive. https://bit.ly/3xI7Oe9 #LetsTalkGA See more

School is out for the summer and that means hundreds of school-aged children will be wondering where their next meal will come from. The Georgia Peanut Commissi...on is teaming up to help those kids through an organization called Peanut Butter & Jesus - Tifton. This organization is helping by packaging and delivering 1,200 sacked lunches every Saturday. PB&J is in need of drinks and snacks to include with their peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. They are specifically requesting: Little Hugs drinks, Little Debbie snack cakes, and individually packaged chips/cookies/crackers. We are also accepting monetary donations (cash or checks payable to Peanut Butter & Jesus of Tifton). If you're unable to contribute financially, please consider donating your time by packaging or delivering. Donations can be dropped off or shipped to the Georgia Peanut Commission - 445 Fulwood Blvd. Tifton, Ga. 31794. If shipping, please ship to the attention of Peanut Butter and Jesus. . #gapeanuts #peanutproud #peanutpeople #peanutbutterandjesus
