Christmas/Winter Break It is amazing to think that the end of 2020 is upon us! Even though it has been a very challenging year for many of us, I am always reminded of the number one thing my mother repeated to me as a child, " Ever day is a gift"! Thanks for training hard thru a challenging year and being a part of the academy! We are thankful that we have been able to operate in a safe and healthy manner all year long and we are thankfu...l for all of you and your continued support. We want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas , happy holidays and a happy early new year! The academy will be closed for the Christmas break from December 21st thru January 1st, we will re-open on January 2nd for regularly scheduled classes. We will have several open mat times over the break for enrolled adult students. Please be on the look out for an email announcing those times. Finally, as we begin to close the year and start a new year , lets agree to focus on these proven lifestyle habits that keep you healthy , strong, and energized: 1.) Get a good nights sleep. Protect your sleep with your life because it is vital to a healthy life. 2.) Keep moving, walk, swim, run , lift, stretch. Are bodies are like automobiles, if you stick a sports car in the garage and leave it sitting a long time it will not run and perform as intended. 3.) Drink primarily water! We all know our bodies are mainly composed of water, they operate on water and require clean water for all processes. They are not made up of, tea, soda, coffee, juice, milk or alcohol. I promise you if you want to feel better , get in better shape and stay healthy, this is a HUGE part! 4.) Eat to live and don't live to eat! It is so important for all of us to choose foods because they are good for us , rather than choosing foods just because they taste good. No amount of exercise can make up for poor consumption habits and the negative health results of those habits. 5.) Only eat till your 80% full. It takes several minutes for your body to realize it is full. Overeating is not healthy for the immune system. 5.) Wash your hands regularly. I like feeling great and high energy as much as I can. I know my habit of regularly washing my hands thru out the day contributes to this . 6.) Avoid sweets and deserts as well as alcohol. They are all filled with sugar and sugar suppresses the immune system. It makes sense that so many folks get sick around the holiday season. I promises you if you avoid sweets and especially if you avoid the stupid juice, you will get sick less and less frequently or never at all. 7.) Get some Vitamin D! So important for the bodies ability to fight of illness and especially viruses. Find a good supplement or get in the sunshine! Eddie Camden T.A.M.A.
