Why credit scores are different. Different circumstances give different credit scores. For instance, if you are getting a credit card your credit score is going... to be different from you purchasing a home. If you buy a car your credit score is going to be different from you buying a house and so on. Credit Karma, Freescores, etc. etc. etc. all use different scoring models. The only way your credit will look the same when it comes to purchasing a home is to have a lender pull your credit. The lender will generally use a company like Credit Plus that is basically the liaison for the bureaus. Lenders credit pulls all use the same model or criteria, this is why when you get your credit score even directly from Experian, Transunion, or Equifax directly it will be different from what your lender sees because they are using a different criteria. The criteria makes all the difference in what your score is i.e. the criteria used for you getting your credit pulled by a lender won't be the same used when you pull it from wherever you pull it that is not a lender.
