After much thought and consideration we have decided to upgrade to an ALS (advanced life support) service. This means we carry cardiac monitors, emergency drugs, and staff our trucks with at least one paramedic and EMT. So many times I've heard the complaint, "I didn't want to call 911 but I didn't know what else to do". We are trying to fill that void by giving citizens and health care facilities another option. We are by no means trying to replace or mimic a 911 service..., but rather provide another option for people not having a true life threatening emergency and still require the attention of an emergency room staff and physician. We are staffed 24/7 including all holidays. At this time we are only taking Medicare, insurances, and private pay. No Medicaid and other state based Medicaid programs typically for children and infants. We provide transport to all local hospitals, CHOA for kids, and Atlanta area hospitals for burns or other specialty health problems.
