DIRECT vs NON-STOP. A tip from a Travel Agent. When booking a flight, these two words DO NOT mean the same thing. Many people use them interchangeably, but they are very different. DIRECT means you stay on the same plane, but it WILL stop somewhere else on the way but you won’t have to change planes. For example, you travel from New Orleans to Miami. That DIRECT plane will stop somewhere else like Atlanta on the way but you stay on that particular aircraft. Technically it can stop in multiple cities. While a NON-STOP means the plane leaves from one city and goes to your destination city without stopping.

Last week, I had lunch with Andrea, owner/manager of a gem of a hotel in the heart of Rome, one of my favorite cities in Europe to visit.
