Are you an environmental advocate, aspiring naturalist, Atlanta history buff, bird "nerd", public art enthusiast, or are you simply passionate about our City in... the Forest? If any of these descriptions apply to you, you might want to consider being a Trees Atlanta Docent. Docents are "Certified Volunteers" who serve in a variety of specific skilled roles. Docents complete extensive training on Atlanta's history and horticultural makeup (trees, plants, and grasses) of the urban forest. These ambassadors create a sense of community by guiding tours of the Atlanta BeltLine Arboretum and other green spaces. Trees Atlanta's next Docent training done virtually this year will be held on five consecutive Saturdays starting January 30, 2021. For more information or to apply for the training session visit https://www.treesatlanta.org//docent-training-a2B5w000001T

BOOK GIVEAWAY November is National Philanthropy Month! Philanthropy involves giving financial support to promote the welfare of others, but giving back to your community can also take on many other forms: volunteering time, utilizing your skills and talents, and small acts of kindness that have a positive impact. To celebrate National Philanthropy Month, we're hosting a book giveaway and kids, it’s your time to shine! Linda McNay, co-author of The Adventures of PhilAnThro...py, and Denise Koehl, Trees Atlanta Board Member, have generously donated 100 copies of this great children's book which tells the story of three friends who combine their time, talents, and resources to help another friend in need. We are looking to showcase our future environmental stewards and their work in the community. There are two ways to win this book: 1.
