Hello Athletes We hope you are getting excited about swimming with us this weekend. We are! We do apologize for the delay in athlete letter as there have been some logistical components we’ve had to work through with the addition to a 1 mile option as a replacement event from earlier this year. ... That said, we will be holding our traditional 2.4 mile swim in addition to a 1 mile swim on Saturday September 5. Below you will find information and logistics for this weekends event. Start: Both races will begin at 8am from the steps below Woodruff Park in Uptown Columbus, GA Finish: 1 mile swim exit will be located below Golden Park. The 2.4 mile swim exit will be located at Bull Dog Marina. Packet Pick Up: Athlete check in will take place from 7am-745am Saturday morning. There will be late registration available. If you need to switch events, we will take care of this at this time. If you deferred your entry from our June event, you have automatically added to participant list. Courses: Both courses take place in an open water and active river setting. We will have lifeguards and kayakers on the water. Water temps are approx. 82-83 degrees and wetsuits are not recommended. If the athlete would like to wear a wetsuit they will be removed from award categories. Athletes are permitted to utilize products such as the New Wave Swim Buoy. COVID 19: Packet pick up and our event will be located outside and we ask our athletes to respectfully social distance themselves from others during pick up and prior/post to the start/finish of our event. We do not require the use of facial coverings, but if you wish to wear one, you are welcome too. We look forward to seeing you on Saturday!
