Tri-County EMC is accepting applications for the position of GIS Mapping Specialist to assist in the preparation and maintenance of the cooperatives geographic information systems (GIS) by obtaining, updating, and implementing all information pertaining to the electric distribution system and the fiber network/build out. We’re continuing to watch the weather! Lots of rain expected between now and Monday.

Another Operation Roundup Grant in action! In March, the Tri-County EMC Foundation awarded $2,500 to Overview, Inc. in Milledgeville to distribute food to low-income families at their pop-up event. Learn More About Operation Roundup Grants at https://www.tri-countyemc.com/operation-round-up.cms.

We have outages affecting 395 meters in our service area, mostly in Jones County. We are aware of the outage and crews are working to restore power.

We currently have 11 outages affecting about 375 accounts. These outages were caused by wind and lightning from thunderstorms passing through our service territory. Our crews are working to restore service as soon as possible.

Today/January 5 is National #TechnologyDay. One of our favorite tech trends: smart lighting! Smart lighting systems that run through a hub, like the Philips Hue shown here, can control all the lighting inside and outside your home.

We have scattered outages popping up across our service area due to Tropica Storm Zeta. If you have an outage, please report it using one of these methods.

Tropical Storm Zeta is forecasted to reach our service area in the very early Thursday morning hours. Be prepared for rain and wind gusts from 20-40mph. Power outages are possible.

Last month, the Tri-County EMC Foundation Board approved grants for 5 projects, totaling $20,124.90 in Operation Roundup funds, to benefit organizations or individuals in local communities. Burn Foundation of America: $2,500 to purchase items to assist patients in the burn center, including pressure garments, virtual reality distraction therapy goggles, clothing and transportation vouchers. Habitat for Humanity Putnam County: $5,675 to purchase and install an HVAC unit in a... Habitat for Humanity home. New Damascus Baptist Church: $6,500 to repair the roof and replace damaged sheetrock for a paraplegic individual in Jones County. Operation Appreciation:$2,500 to help cover the basic needs of military families within the Tri-County EMC service area. Velma McFadden Missionary Food Pantry: $2,950 in funds to purchase a tent to be used as shelter during food distribution and to help purchase food for the food pantry. Greater Jordan Chapel AMEC

We've heard reports from several members regarding scammers calling from a number that shows up as Tri-County EMC on caller ID demanding immediate payment. If this happens, please hang up and notify law enforcement. If you are ever suspicious of any call demanding payment from Tri-County, hang up and call us at 478.986.8100 to verify your account balance and due date.
