UPDATE: Our sweet baby girl crossed the rainbow bridge today.. Mama and the other 9 babies are doing well. And we thank everyone for your love, support and... donations. "It Takes a Village" Today was an unusually emotional rollercoaster. At 9 am this morning we received a call from Hall County Animal Shelter regarding a mom and her 10 newborn pups (less than 24 hours old). Jamie Porter, HSFC Volunteer and VP of HSFC Board headed out to get the pups. Upon arrival, all were looking healthy except one little, very cold pup. The next step was to get this pup back to the HSFC to get it warmed back up. Debbie Bertsch, Exec. Director, took the baby and did puppy to body heat contact with heat packs to help. After a bit, the pup sounded like it was asperating. With limited staffing today, we knew we needed help. Justine, our Shelter Director, jumped on the phone to contact our vet, Dr. Sue Kascher, and Lauren, our Animal Services Director, to get advice. We were instructed to contact Dr. Jennifer House at PetVet. Dr. House became the next villager to step up and WOW, did she. Within a few hours she was able to turn this baby around, breathing normally and searching for mom and food! We are praying for this little one who is now in a loving, safe foster home with her mom and siblings. I personally, as the Executive Director, am so proud of all the people who went above and beyond today to save this sweet baby. Please donate to support our efforts during this uncertain time.
